ABOUT MARY
Mary first showcased her talent at the early age 12 when, by chance, her father heard her singing on a home tape recorder, and recognized her potential. Having his own band at that time, he invited Mary to sing with them on the weekends.
Once Mary finished school she took up office work in her home county, Meath, in Ireland. It was while working in an office that she auditioned and successfully got the job as vocalist with a band called Jukebox, whom she remained with Jukebox for roughly 3 years.
Mary really made her mark in the music industry when she entered and won the Sunday World nationwide talent competition in Ireland. It was soon after that Mary was signed to a major label, since which time she has achieved much success with her albums. She also auditioned for, and was offered, the special guest slot on Daniel O'Donnell's first UK concert tour. To date Mary remains Daniel's long-time singing partner touring with him abroad and throughout North America. Mary is also a featured guest in all seven of Daniel's national Public Television specials.
Mary has numerous music awards to her name including 'Best Female Vocalist' from the British Country Music Awards and 'Best Female Solo Artist' from the Annual Irish World Awards. As well as the many music awards, in 1990 Mary was also named Meath Person of the Year, a much prized accolade received from her home county.
