Jimmy Buckley

Jimmy Buckley

Jimmy Buckley was born on November 19, 1971, in Doon Co. Limerick, Ireland. Standing 5'7", with fair hair and deep brown eyes, Jimmy began his music career at an early age. While just a teen he worked as a sales rep by day and played locally with his band "Nitefall."

In 1991, Jimmy received his first big break on the television show "Secrets," which was hosted by one of Ireland's top celebrities Gerry Ryan. Since that memorable day, Jimmy has never looked back.

Original material written by his manager Henry McMahon has played a big part in Jimmy's success. "Your Wedding Day" went on to become the biggest selling Irish Single of 2003, followed by the album by the same name. McMahon also wrote "Broken White Lines," the title track of Jimmy's 2005 album, and the most recent song "Her Husband and Her Lover" is included on his "Live in Concert" DVD, which is featured on Jimmy's first Public Television special.

Buckley notes Elvis and Buddy Holly among his greatest and earliest influences. He is especially interested in song writing and has written a number of originals including "A Mothers Love" and "Have You Found Somebody New." He also co-wrote the brilliant number one Irish single "Cottage by the Sea," which was featured on one of his earlier albums.

Jimmy Buckley currently resides in Galway, Ireland with his wife and children. His popularity continues to soar as he tours abroad, with half of 2007 dedicated to concert appearances. Dubbed as Ireland's "favorite Irish and country singer," Buckley continues to penetrate new territories with his charismatic personality and traditional musical style.
