ABOUT HELMUT
Helmut Lotti, born Helmut Lotigiers on October 22, 1969 in Gent, Belgium, became passionate about music at the early age of five. Influenced by his grandfather, who was the director of Ghent Opera, Lotti fell in love with the music of the better crooners and Elvis Presley. In 1988, using the alias Kevin Leach, Lotti showed up in the regional sound mix circuit and became well known for his perfect Elvis imitations. The next year he came in second at the Dutch KRO Sound Mix competition with his interpretation of the Elvis song "My Boy." The same year he won a Golden Eye for "most popular singer in Flanders" and a star was born.
Helmut Lotti's popularity continues to soar. By 1997, barely 28 years old, Lotti climbed the stage of the "World Music Awards", together with Lionel Richie, Julio Iglesias, Los del Rio, Vanessa Mae, Khaled, Bee Gees, Kenny G, Roberta Flack, Florant Pagny, Eros Ramazzotti, Ace of Base, DJ Bono, Fugees, and Celine Dion. In the presence of Princess Stephanie and Prince Albert of Monaco, he received the award for best selling artist of the Benelux.
Since those early days, Lotti's undeniable talent has earned him great accolades. By the end of 2005, Helmut received, world wide, a total of 76 gold and 72 platinum awards for his music that ranges from classical to pop. His latest work, The Crooners, is a compilation of American classics as well as self-written originals performed flawlessly by Helmut in the soft crooner's style.
Helmut Lotti The Crooners concert premiered nationally on Public Television in March 2007. It follows the success of Lotti's previous Public TV specials, Helmut Lotti Goes Classic and From Russia With Love.
